Mirror
Mirror reflects a mesh or curve across a plane and welds the two halves where they meet. Build one half of something symmetric, such as a chair, a helmet, a sword guard or a sign outline, and Mirror makes the whole thing. If your half crosses the mirror, turn on Clip to cut it there first. Chain two or three Mirrors for four-way or eight-way symmetry.
Inputs
Section titled “Inputs” Any geometry
The half of a mesh or curve to mirror.
Outputs
Section titled “Outputs” Same as input
The half and its mirror image, welded into a whole.
Parameters
Section titled “Parameters”| Parameter | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
Align | Where the mirror goes. Custom places it with Origin and Normal (or the viewport gizmo); a named side puts it on that side of the shape and follows the shape as it changes. Options: Custom, +X (Right), -X (Left), +Y (Top), -Y (Bottom), +Z (Front), -Z (Back) | Custom |
Origin | A point the mirror passes through. Shown when Align is Custom. | 0, 0, 0 |
Normal | The direction the mirror faces. With Clip on, the half it faces is the half that is kept. Shown when Align is Custom. | 1, 0, 0 |
Offset | Moves a named-side mirror away from the shape along its facing direction. Not used with Custom. | 0 |
Merge | Welds the two halves together where they meet the mirror, so the result is one piece. | On |
Threshold | How close to the mirror a point must be to snap onto it and weld. Raise it if the seam was drawn slightly off. | 0.1 |
Clip | Cuts the shape at the mirror first and keeps one half, so a shape that crosses the mirror comes out clean instead of doubled. | Off |
Flip | Keeps the other half when clipping. Shown when Clip is On. | Off |
