Curve
Curve lets you draw a line or path in the viewport, by placing points one at a time or sketching freehand. It can run straight between its points, pass smoothly through them, or bend with Bézier handles, and it can be open or closed. A curve has no surface of its own: feed it to Extrude Along Curve to make a pipe, rope or rail, or to Fill Curve to turn a closed outline into a face.
Inputs
Section titled “Inputs”None. This node creates new geometry.
Outputs
Section titled “Outputs” Curve
The drawn curve, ready to feed Extrude Along Curve, Fill Curve or other curve nodes.
Parameters
Section titled “Parameters”| Parameter | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
Points | The points you place or sketch in the viewport. | Set in the viewport |
View lock | Draws onto one flat plane through the origin, such as Front or Top, and turns the camera to face it. Off draws freely. Options: Off, Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, Bottom | Off |
Half-space | Keeps the curve on one side of the origin, for example +X, so a Mirror can complete the other half. Off allows both sides. Options: Off, +X, −X, +Y, −Y, +Z, −Z | Off |
Orientation | Which way is up along the curve, which decides how a swept shape is turned. Curve Normal follows the curve's own plane; World X, Y or Z point up along that axis; Custom uses Up direction. Options: Curve Normal, World X, World Y, World Z, Custom | Curve Normal |
Up direction | The direction that counts as up. Shown when Orientation is Custom. | 0, 1, 0 |
Twist | Spins the up direction along the curve, in turns: 1 is one full spin from start to end. Use it to twist rope strands or flute a column. | 0 |
