Terms of Service
Effective 30 September 2026.
These terms are the agreement between you and TechnicallyArtist for using Forge: the web application at forge.technicallyartist.com, this documentation site, and the content registry that serves them. Using Forge means you accept them. They are written in plain words on purpose; where a clause could be read two ways, the plain reading is the intended one.
1. Who provides Forge
Section titled “1. Who provides Forge”Forge is made and operated by TechnicallyArtist, an independent game tools developer based in Spain. Contact for anything about these terms: [email protected].
2. What Forge is
Section titled “2. What Forge is”Forge is a browser-based tool for building meshes and materials from a node graph and exporting them to a game engine. It is free to use and under active development: features change, nodes get added and renamed, and the occasional bug reaches you before it reaches us. Treat it as a preview-quality tool and keep copies of work you care about. File ▸ Export Project saves a .ta file that is entirely yours.
3. Your work is yours
Section titled “3. Your work is yours”Everything you make in Forge is yours: the node graphs, the meshes, the textures, the materials, and every file you export. TechnicallyArtist claims no ownership, no royalty and no credit. Use your exports in any project, commercial or not, in any engine, with no attribution required.
If you sign in, you give TechnicallyArtist only the permission needed to store your work and copy it between your devices, as described in the Privacy Policy. That permission ends when you delete the work or your account.
You are responsible for what you make with Forge, including making sure you have the rights to any image or model you bring into it.
4. Content Forge provides
Section titled “4. Content Forge provides”Forge ships with node presets, templates and effect images, and fetches more from the Forge registry. You may use all of it in your projects and in what you export, including commercial projects, without attribution. You may not repackage or resell that content on its own, separate from work you made with it.
5. Accounts
Section titled “5. Accounts”An account is optional. Without one, Forge stores everything in your browser and nothing leaves it. With one, Forge keeps a private cloud copy of your projects, library and images so you can open them on another device.
- Accounts are invite-only for now. You sign in with Google; Forge never sees or stores a password.
- You must be at least 14 years old, or the age at which you can consent to online services where you live.
- Keep your Google account secure. Anything done in Forge through it counts as done by you.
- Cloud storage is limited, currently to 50 MB per account. At the limit, Forge keeps working locally and resumes backing up once you free space.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile ▸ Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent for everything stored in the cloud; the copy in your browser stays.
6. Fair use
Section titled “6. Fair use”Use Forge for making things. Do not:
- upload or store content that is illegal, or that you have no right to use;
- try to reach another user’s data, or to get around storage limits, rate limits or security measures;
- overload the service, download the registry in bulk, or point automated tools at it in ways that harm it for others;
- copy, sell or redistribute the Forge application itself.
TechnicallyArtist may suspend or close an account used in breach of these terms. Where practical you will be told why and given the chance to export your work first.
7. No warranty
Section titled “7. No warranty”Forge is provided as is and as available, without any warranty of any kind, express or implied: no promise that it is free of errors, that it is available at any given time, that a mesh it produces is fit for a particular purpose, or that a cloud copy will never be lost. The copy in your browser and your own exports are the copies to rely on.
8. Limitation of liability
Section titled “8. Limitation of liability”To the fullest extent the law allows, TechnicallyArtist is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from Forge, including lost work, lost profits or lost data, and total liability for any claim connected to Forge is limited to the amount you paid for it, which is nothing.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing removes the statutory rights you have as a consumer in the European Union or elsewhere.
9. Changes to Forge and to these terms
Section titled “9. Changes to Forge and to these terms”Forge may change, add or remove features at any time. If Forge as a whole is discontinued, reasonable notice will be given where possible so you can export your work.
These terms may be updated. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use Forge after a change means you accept it.
10. Third-party services
Section titled “10. Third-party services”Signing in uses Google, cloud storage uses Supabase, and hosting uses Cloudflare. Each has its own terms for its part of the service; the Privacy Policy lists what each one handles.
11. Governing law
Section titled “11. Governing law”These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. If you use Forge as a consumer in another country of the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country. Disputes go to the courts of Spain or, for consumers, to the courts of your home country where the law gives you that choice.
